ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT to Typestream as a custom connector in developer mode.

ChatGPT connects to Typestream as a custom connector, which needs ChatGPT's developer mode. Once connected, ChatGPT can answer questions about your coverage with the articles behind them.

An owner or admin needs to have turned on Connected agents for your organisation. In ChatGPT, custom connectors are available on paid plans, and a workspace admin may need to allow them.

Add the connector

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create.
  3. Name it Typestream, paste the server URL, https://api.dev.typestream.nz/mcp, and choose OAuth for authentication.
  4. Choose Create. A Typestream window opens: sign in, pick the organisation, and choose Allow.

Use it

In a new chat, choose Developer mode from the tools menu and turn on Typestream. Ask about your coverage, such as "Which outlets are most negative about us this month, and why?"

ChatGPT asks you before it uses a tool that changes something. Typestream adds its own check: anything that would spend more than your auto-approve limit comes back with the price first, and runs only when you agree. See Connected agents.
