Acceptable use policy

Typestream is for understanding how the news covers organisations, people, products and topics. This policy says what it mustn't be used for. It forms part of the terms of service, and applies to everyone in your organisation, and to any AI agent you connect.

Don't use Typestream to

• break the law, or help anyone else to;
• harass, stalk or surveil private individuals. Watching public figures, companies and topics in the news is what Typestream is for. Using it to track a private person, or to build profiles of individuals for decisions about their employment, housing, credit or insurance, is not;
• discriminate against people, or target them, because of a protected characteristic;
• republish articles, or build a substitute for the publishers' own sites. Typestream shows headlines, snippets and links; don't copy more of an article than that, or use Typestream to get around a paywall;
• create or spread disinformation, or pass off Typestream's answers as something they're not, such as a verified fact or professional advice;
• send spam, or put unlawful, abusive or malicious content into chats, profiles, monitors or channels.

Don't misuse the service

• Don't try to get at another organisation's data, or at parts of Typestream you're not allowed to use.
• Don't probe, scan or test Typestream's security without our written permission. If you find a vulnerability, tell security@typestream.nz; see Security and data.
• Don't try to make the AI ignore its instructions or reveal data it shouldn't, including by planting instructions in content you ask it to read.
• Don't overload the service, get around rate or spending limits, or use automated means to access it other than our API and connected agents, within their limits.
• Don't copy, resell or sublicense Typestream, or use it to build a competing product, without our written agreement.
• Don't share accounts. Each person signs in as themselves.

If something goes wrong

If we see use that breaks this policy, we may remove the content, pause the monitors or channels involved, or suspend the accounts, and we'll tell your organisation's owners why. For serious or repeated breaches we may end the agreement, as the terms describe.
